Ulviyya Mahmudova (Azerbaijani: Ülviyya Mahmudova) – is an Azerbaijan public figure, editor-in-chief of Nargis Magazine, launched in Baku in 2012.

Early life and Education

Mahmudova was born in Baku on January 13, 1985. She is daughter of professor Nargis Pashayeva, the rector of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Baku Branch, and sister of artist Aida Mahmudova, the founder and creative director of YARAT Contemporary Art Space[1].
In 2007, Mahmudova graduated from Regent’s University London with a BA Degree in Psychology.
In 2006-2007, Mahmudova had a one-year internship at UNICEF.

Career

Since 2012, Mahmudova is an editor-in-chief at Nargis Magazine[2].
In 2012, Mahmudova founded Nargis Fund[3], a charity organization that helps both socially deprived families and orphanages, as well as provides treatment to sick children.
In 2013, Mahmudova founded the first New Year charity fair called Cold hands, warm heart[4] (Azerbaijani: Soyuq Əllər, İsti Ürək) in the center of Baku, at Fountain Square.
In 2014, Mahmudova launched Nargis Magazine in Georgia[5].
In 2018, she presented Nargis Magazine in France during the Paris Fashion Week.
Mahmudova produces photo and short movie projects on social and cultural topics, that are presented at Nargis TV portal and official web-site www.nargismagazine.az[6] as well as YouTube channel[7] of the magazine.
For Nargis Magazine, Mahmudova interviewed Norwegian fashion designer Kristian Aadnevik, Egyptian business magnate Mohamed Al-Fayed, Czech model Petra Němcová, Russian fashion investor and founder of Buro 24/7 Miroslava Duma, Italian actress Claudia Cardinale, and other world-famous persons.
